ZHANG MIDI (b. 1986, Juye County,
Shandong) is a graphic designer based in
Hangzhou, where he founded Yu Shu Tang.
He is a member of the Book Art & Design
Committee under the Publishers Association
of China, an adjunct lecturer at the School
of Design and Innovation of the China
Academy of Art, an off-campus lecturer
for graduate students at the School of Art
and Archaeology of Zhejiang University,
a contracted type designer at FounderType
and a study group member.
Zhang specializes in typography and the
research and production of book design
art. He curated the “Modern Typography
Research Series” exhibition and publication
program.Which includes “Typographic
Composition Yoshihisa Shirai: from Inter-
national Style to Classic Style andto idea”
(China Design Museum, CAA, 2021),
and edited a book with the same title
(Hunan Fine Arts Publishing House, 2021)
and others.
